My friend introduced me to Farm Town which is an application on Facebook. She introduced it to me just yesterday and I'm completely addicted. It reminds me a lot of a game I have for my Gamecube where you farm, have animals to feed, and have to meet people. It is a good thing that I can't access Facebook from work or I fear I'd never get anything done between that and the mom's board I frequent.
Anyway, basically the point of the game is to grow crops and harvest them before they spoil in the field. You hire people to harvest for you, and you can give your friends gifts like animals or fruit trees. Each of the crops has a different maturity time, from 1 to 3 days. So, you need to check it often to make sure your vegetables don't spoil. In the meantime while your crops are growing, you can go to the marketplace and "work" for other farmers by harvesting their crops. Basically, it requires no skill, but it is fun and surprisingly enough it can make time fly by.

I'm in my last semester of college. This May, barring me failing any of my three classes, I will finally graduate with my Bachelors degree. It has been a long time coming as I've been going to school at least part time since I graduated from high school almost nine years ago. I find myself really struggling to stay motivated and stay on top of my assignments.
The daily grind of work, kids, and life can really make me tired and sitting down to read a chapter in Business Policy is generally the last thing I want to do at 8 at night. Inevitably the couch and the newest American Idol episode wins out and I find another night flying by with not a single page read or assignment touched. Suddenly, the due date looms up and I have to rush through the assignment or test to make sure it is done in time. Thankfully, I'm still getting good grades and passing all my classes, but I fear the actual material that I'm supposed to be remembering is getting lost somewhere in the midst.
Needless to say, I need to continue to remind myself that the end is in sight...and I will get there after all these years of struggling. Soon enough I will be holding my diploma, which is my prize.

I have a love/hate relationship with my camera. I love it because it is fast and takes great pictures. I hate it because it has all these settings that I don't know how to use. I was able to talk my husband into letting me buy it by promising that I'd be able to take our kid's "professional" pictures at home instead of spending too much money at the studios. That was almost a year ago and I've yet to even attempt. He reminds me of my promise every single time I call to make an appointment at a studio...as if I don't remember. In fact, I don't really like the studio pictures we get taken, but I continue to go in fear of losing out on the 3,6,9, 12 month pictures I feel obligated to take. It doesn't matter that I prefer the 'non-traditional' pictures to the ones of the chain portrait studios, I still feel that odd sensation that I HAVE to go there, and HAVE to buy $150 worth of pictures. I inevitably hand out a few to family members and the rest are left to collect dust in a pile.
This year, I'm determined to learn the manual settings on my camera. I swear that I will take better pictures of my children and begin to learn like the other talented mommies that belong to several photography boards I belong to. If they can do it, so can I! So, thus begins the learning process.
